The decision to work with an editor is primarily for their expertise in the console distribution and wider marketing reach. New World Interactive retains full ownership of the Insurgency brand and creative direction of the project.
New World Interactive is currently developing a new framework for eSports he plans on deploying in Insurgency: Sandstorm upon release. Meanwhile, New World Interactive plans to release a beta version fully functional these competing systems in the current version of the Source engine Insurgency. The systems will be stress tested and improved with the help of the community leading up to the launch of Insurgency: Sandstorm.

There is no official release date for the beta competitive deployment, but the team is working hard and intends to test as soon as possible.
